Griffith Park: Old L.A. Zoo

merry-go-round park. lots of foilage.

From 1912 to 1965, bears and lions and
monkeys were at griffith park.

i found out about the old zoo grounds
from a magazine.

a wooded area.

rock steps.

monkey cages (?)

maybe the lion's den.

some moron was exploring the place.
imagine if the lions were still there -
he'd be gook meat.

the view of a caged animal.

dungeon stairs.

planet of the apes might've been
filmed here.

grass and a mountain in background

more cages. maybe for owls.

water stream.

pretty quiet day at griffith.

man-made river, maybe.

took a detour and got a closer
shot of mountain.

glendale. once home to gabriella indians,
now the headquarters of armenians.

glendale: largest population of armenians
in U.S

golf course. ace in the hole.

hollywood. then, koreatown.

more l.a.

downtown.

it took about 25 min. to get to the
top. this is the view. i jogged most of
it.

L.A. did not make list of most polluted
cities. china, india, peru, and
 zimbabwe
made the cut.

the trail going down.

glendale galleria: july 3, 1991,
terminator 2 was released to much
fanfare. part of the film took place
at the galleria.

the movie lived up to the hype.

running up the trail. this particular
part was pretty grueling, as it was a
steep slope.
