Parker Mesa Overlook Trail

pacific ocean. santa monica pier (in the distance)

red vs. white. white would win this part of the race.

from sea to shining sea.

the southland.

civilization.

a grueling run. we're at the top.
army intel willis made it first. again, maybe
it was that time in iraq that gave him the
edge.

the same night, had asthma attack while
trying to sleep. probably pushed myself
too hard.

notice m. bell wearing long pants.
rattle snakes live in california brushes.

baby rattlesnake (?). it's head doesn't
look like a king snake or garter snake. it's got that triangular shape: a marker of poisonous fangs.

if it weren't for a couple on the trail checking it out, i wouldn't have noticed it.

malibu: 8.5 percent asian american.

92 percent euro american. a community in the hills.

downtown l.a.

the santa monica merry-go-round is a
registered national landmark.

marilyn monroe used to spend mornings there. one day
she was offered a job by one of the hands; she took
off her sunglasses and that was the end of the conversation.

pacific ocean. a five hour flight from
honolulu: the only major city in the
united states with a majority asian-american population
(63 percent).

santa monica: 7.25 percent yellow.

a redtail (?) hawk.
